After a Decade of Secrecy, Apple Reluctantly Tries Out Transparency

Since 1997, Apple has work on a level of secrecy which is changing with the new development of the iPhone. According to an article on Wired (After a Decade of Secrecy, Apple Reluctantly Tries Out Transparency) Apple lifted the NDA that was set to protect its inventions and innovations from others. It was said in a article from Wired that the NDA “created too much of a burden on developers, authors and others interested in helping further the iPhone’s success, so we are dropping it for released software.”
Valleywag managing editor Owen Thomas, thinks that the idea of Apple becoming more open was just a public ploy. "I would say they're trying more actively to make up for pitfalls of their closeness," said Thomas.
